CPR/AED & First Aid Training Class

The Emeriti Association is partnering with the American Red Cross to offer an in person CPR/AED and basic first aid course. The training will focus on recognizing and responding to common medical emergencies likely to occur at home, on the trail, or in community settings.


Location: University of Utah Student Union Saltair Room, 200 S. Central Campus Drive , Salt Lake City, UT 84112
Date/Time: Friday, February 27, 2026 from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

What You'll Learn:

  • CPR and AED techniques
  • Recognizing and responding to strokes
  • Managing diabetic hypoglycemia
  • Handling other common medical emergencies

Format: Instructor‑led, hands‑on practice with CPR mannequins and AED trainers

Audience: Emeriti and spouses/partners who want practical, lay‑rescuer skills and confidence in responding to emergencies

Class size: Limited to 25 participants; training is structured for a maximum instructor‑to‑student ratio of 1:12 with at least one mannequin for every two participants to allow ample practice time.

Participants who complete the course will receive American Red Cross certification in First Aid/CPR/AED, typically valid for two years.
